Heat Feet
2008|
After lighting two gas stoves Giles stood on a metal platform above them. As the platform gradually increased in temperature he was forced to move at increasing speed to prevent his feet from burning.
An opera singer sang scales that rose in pitch and volume along with the temperature of the platform, responding to Giles’ movements.
The work built towards a frenzied din with the artists feet drumming on the metal and the operatic accompaniment whaling at full force.
