‘Locomotion’ is a duet between the artist’s hands and footage he shot on the Trans-Siberian Railway. The work starts slowly, as the train pulls out of Moscow a pair of hands appear on screen, which start to rub together. As the rubbing hands become more frantic the sound produced begins to reflect the sound of a train in motion. The work speeds towards a crescendo of frenzied activity.
