The Mojave Desert Project
2009
For 24 days Giles attempted to live and work alone in a studio amongst the baron wilds of the Mojave desert USA. Whilst reflecting on the situation, the artist recorded and communicated his experience on a daily blog and posted material to Battersea Park Library where it was displayed.
After spending 17 days alone in the desert Giles withdrew from the project as he felt unable to complete the full 24 days planned. The Blog www.thedesertproject.com remains as a record of his time in the desert. Supported by Wandsworth Arts Grants and the Fabian Cravan Foundation.
